    Breaking up for Christmas

    When do your GCs break up for Christmas - or have they already finished? there seems to be a wide variation around the country.

    My GS1 broke up last Friday, GS2 finishes tomorrow lunchtime, and GD1 not until Thursday!

    I don't know when GD2 is due to break up from playgroup because she's off ill anyway!

    You wonder what criteria are used to decide the dates. GS2 has had to wear uniform today but tomorrow morning is non-uniform so there will be a complete uniform which has been worn once only in their washing machine this week! GD1 has to wear a Christmas hat tomorrow and the only one her mum could get is huge!

    All of mine have broken up. Ben is already in Florida and the other two are off from Heathrow tomorrow (husband meeting them as he is on shift).

    Some academies which opted out of the system make their own rules. An academy I worked with in Essex did six weeks school, one week off throughout the year. I think that if you only have one child or all of your kids at the same academy you would be OK but what if you had hildden af schools with different term dates?

        Oma - that is late. they won't have time to get too excited about Christmas! But then I suppose they've got longer after Christmas to play with their new toys etc.

          Our local schools break up tomorrow but my DD finished on Friday, she works in a local girls Grammar School.
          What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

            Our youngest will finish on Thursday. She is at a school in town.

            We have a few schools in our area, and they all finish on different days.
            Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

              Two eldest broke up last Friday, GD school and GS’s college.
              Younger GS in Wales is still at school till Friday

                Although my GC go to different schools, they are in the same area for education. A different one to where I live, so sometimes their school holidays differ from my local ones.
                Neither GC break up until this Friday, 222nd, which I think it very late! GD will finish at 2.30 on that day, I'm not sure about GS. GD and I were bemoaning the lateness of this on our drive home from school yesterday!

                    My poor little GD2 is missing her Nativity play today - her ear infection hasn't cleared up and she's back on antibiotics. It's such a shame as she enjoys singing and has been practising all the carols etc every day for weeks. She should have been a lamb, so all I can say is poor little Lamb.

                          I feel sorry for her too - and it got worse today. The other gran (whose day it is) phoned this morning to say she had earache and a sore throat and had gone back to bed, so poor little GD2 had to go in to work with her mum and dad while they tried to get in touch with her other grandad to see if he could look after her. By the time I found out it was nearly lunch-time, and I think they thought I was in need of a rest anyway!

                            Sorry to hear little one is poorly Daisy, the twins had their nativity Tuesday and M fell asleep halfway through, she was supposed to ba a star along with her bro but she wasn’t shining so brightly, my child care are is over for 3 weeks think like you Daisy they thought we deserved a break

                              I think we all do deserve a break, and Daisy and Qwerty especially!
                              No more childcare for me until I have GS1 for a day on January 4th.
