Gem - I think you underestimate how much childcare you do!

GD2 is a little bit better, but not herself at all. I just hope she's feeling ok by Christmas Day.

GD1 broke up yesterday lunch-time. I haven't asked yet if the other grandparents are ok to have both girls today, but I've got to go over to their house so I can always bring them back here if necessary. It's DS2 and DIL's last day in the shop until January so they are going to be run off their feet, and having to take both girls in, plus puppy will be difficult to say the least.

The local secondary school broke up at lunch time. this slowed down my drive home considerably! They all looked happy to be out at last.
My poor little GD, only 8, doesn't break up until 2.30!

Gem - your GD must be exhausted. It's a long term anyway, in a new class (or school) with lots of colds and bugs going round, plus all the 'work' for Christmas with concerts, plays, assemblies etc. Being this close to the Big Day doesn't give them much time of recover. A lot of children finished a week ago, so it seems a bit unfair on those who only broke up yesterday or today.
