I have to admit, I've ordered 3 presents on-line and started on my card design!!

All of my cards have been written for some time. I do have spares just in case I have forgotten anyone but I keep a list (goes right back to 2005!) so missing someone is rare.
As we are away in the hotel Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and breakfast Boxing Day I will get some smoked salmon, prawns, cold meat, cheeses bread and crackers and we will have that for Boxing Day evening. We will have a full breakfast in the morning which is quite unusual for us so we won’t need a big meal. The following day husband is back on shift and I will nip to the supermarket if I need anything but usually I have enough in the freezer to keep us going. The only thing I have to concern myself with is when the family come to us (minus middle son of course). and that will be an early evening buffet (as 2 x sons will be back at work) so will make quiche, salad, mini pies, jackets, pot salad etc. so nothing that will stress me.
I have wrapped all of the presents I have bought and they will go into the loft before we go away, still got some to get though. All the presents for my sisters and families in Wales are wrapped and boxed ready for couriering to them so I might do that before we go away just to get it out if the way.
Wee Granny do you make your own cards or design and then order them? When we had the business we used to have them printed but now I tend to buy them in early January and keep them for the following year. We don’t send many these days.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Wrapped 15 presents today it’s a start lol, always try to write my cards on 1st December to Xmas cds and a glass of red wine , some presents are too big to wrap such as twin pushchair which she will want put together, and very large fire engine with real hose that needs filling with water I think we may get wet at some point. Half a dozen pressies to buy yet and maybe another 16 to wrap. Boxing day I always do a pass the parcel for the kids need to To buy some bits and bobs and prizes for Mr and Mrs game and a. general knowledge quiz have to keep them awake somehow 😴
Our card list gets smaller guess that’s what happens as we get older and we retire no workmates and suchLast edited by Qwerty; 09-11-2017, 10:32 AM.

Wow you ladies are well organised. It’s not that I’m unwilling to present buy,it’s just I can’t think what to get. I have bought some cards from two charities I support but I’m sure I’ve got some tucked away from last year which I must unearth.I must also turn my mind to cake making, just a small one but we do enjoy it.

I think I have about twenty unwritten cards behind the wardrobe. I keep them all in a big carrier bag and last year as I pulled the bag down the whole contents slid down the back of the wardrobe. Should be able to retrieve them soon as the wardrobe is being dismantled, probably be covered in all sorts of dust!If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

I got a few links today from DS he’s a massive music fan and is a musician as well, but the links I can’t even pronounce nor would I want to .
A book by Pink Floyd and the meanings behind their songs 🤔🙄 you mean they have meanings !!!!!!
Pink Floyd box set have you ever listened to their music it’s beyong understanding , the only
thing I liked was the theme to Cadbury’s Flake (only the crumbliest flake is chocolate ) remember the girl seductively eating her chocolate that was written by them lol
There are other links of Led Zeppelin , and Foo Fighters etc think I’ll go with the first two I have no idea what I am buying 😏Last edited by Qwerty; 09-11-2017, 08:49 PM.

Shopping done
I found it a bit stressful in town yesterday (December 1st) so wouldn't like to be leaving it much later)
Just a couple of small stocking fillers to get for OH, and a couple of small things on behalf of my mum, but all my main present shop is done.
Nothing is wrapped however.
Tomorrow I am making our Christmas cake, and will make mums on Monday.
No tree or decs up yet. We may buy the tree this weekend, and put it up later. We usually do it around the 10th - 12th, but once we have it I know I will be tempted!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I've got to fill the envelopes with £s for the 5 DGSs and 2 DGDs and finish some wrapping and thats me sorted everything has gone to plan this year and nothing has been out of stock when I have gone shopping for the things I have been after buying.
I have not bought/made a Christmas Cake this year as I am on SW diet and after loosing 1st in 6 weeks don't want to put it back on,hubby has been impressed with me walking past the mince pies on display at M&S yesterday as it has always been known within the family that I can't resist them shouting at me to eat them.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous
