It’s in the lounge, Qwerty. Just fits under the stairs (we have a loft conversion so the stairs are in the lounge). I have a smaller silver one in the conservatory.
It was a much bigger tree, a bit too big really, so we decided to,just use the top two sections and it’s perfect now. Doesn’t take up so much room.Last edited by Enfys; 02-12-2017, 10:10 PM."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

I've bought some Christmas cards, and I must get the foreign ones written and posted this week, and a birthday card to go abroad.
I asked DS2 again yesterday what the girls would like for Christmas. His answer, don't worry, Mum we've got a long list and can get them for you if you want."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

OH, who still writes the cards for our friends who were hers originally, and for her small family, hasn't even bought any cards yet! There are 4 or 5 cards left of the many packs I bought. Mine are half written but I have a bit of a dilemma, some of my friends from the past who I am only in contact with at Christmas are like me are getting older every year. I make a list for cards from the cards I receive the year before but not sure whether to stop sending to those friends from the past and never see now. I am concerned that if I do that they might think I have popped my clogs. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant our “oldies” the people that used to work for us and also for husband’s dad before us are getting fewer and fewer. Two are completely gone with dementia and in homes, we visited one lady last year with a plant and and card and she tried to eat the plant. The other lady was a midwife and a councillor for many years and to be honest I hate going to see what she has ended up like. One old gentleman is also in a home after having suffered a series of strokes and cannot speak. Husband says we should not go and see them this year but it seems a bit disloyal to me. There is one other lady who lives a couple of miles away. She is over 80 and apart from arthritis in her hands appears to be healthy. We speak to her regularly.
All main presents ordered for little people (or not so little these days), Amazon voucher received yesterday, Sadie’s coat should be here tomorrow and now am just waiting for the bo for the cash for Joe. Joe is in to smellies now (and girls I think one goes with the other) so bought him some Ted Baker stuff - he is like his father, has to be designer names don’t you know! Got to get a couple of bits for the others, put the wine and stuff in the baskets and wrap and I am done. Relatives in Wales have their parcel as I sent it before we went away.Last edited by ZIZI; 03-12-2017, 12:47 PM.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

I wrote Christmas cards to the friends I was seeing for lunch today and handed them out. We've received about 8 or 9 cards so far.
I'll get started on the rest this week-end, as we have the GSs plus dog for a sleepover next week-end.
