We've finally resorted to an artificial tree after years of real ones. We need one maximum of 4' and spent hours searching for one that would fit in our window space when the time could be better spent on other C word preparations.

All my c....... decs are in storage. 🙄 There is a pretty little tree in a pot in the garden. We shall use that and I will make some decs.

We used to have a real tree but succumbed to an artificial one a few years ago. I try to look through the decs beforehand. If there's any I'm not going to use I give them to the Charity shop in time for Christmas. I also have a small wire scroll-like tree which I put very special, old decs on. Sheer excitement for me when Christmas is near. There, I'm not even afraid to say it....Christmas, Christmas, Christmas 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅

We had to be careful when choosing a tree when we moved here as the lounge is not as big as I have been used to so we bought a slimline 6ft pre dressed tree which does look good when I add some of my favourite baubles which I have kept from over the years, last year I bought a half tree which lays flat on the outside wall at the top of our stairs leading to our front door which looked very effective and brightened up the stairway. The rest of the lounge is done up with big baubles across the front of the curtains and garlands across the large mirrors,I've just remembered I will have to be very careful this year with the arrival of Oliver won't I ?? if he carries on the way he is getting into mischief who knows what will happen

Yesterday I put the bistro table and chairs into the shed as summer appears to have ended . As I put them to the back of the shed I moved our wooden Rudolph the Reindeer to the front so that's easily got when it gets closer to Christmas. It stands on the patio with a bit of holly on its antlers, when I have the kitchen light on it lights up the patio area and he looks splendid, standing there.
He was hand made by a friend of my DIL, Rudolph even has the very important red nose .
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I tried to persuade OH we needed a big reindeer a year or 2 ago, but she didn't agree!

Glamma, I remember the Christmas many years ago, when our 2 kittens chased each other around the room and up the 6 foot tree and knocked it over! For several years following we attached a length of fishing wire to the top and fixed that to a small hook in the window frame!

Don't be afraid Nana No one minds talking about summer holidays in winter so I see no harm in talking about Christmas in October!

I was struck down with a nasty stomach bug not long after starting this thread, so it was probably my punishment!!
