    Nativity Play

I was lucky enough to be able to watch my GS2 in his nativity play at 5pm yesterday.
It was the Key Stage 1 production.
He had the role of narrator. He chose this role himself. He is a good expressive reader and talker and hates dressing up, hence his ideal role

I know he is my own so I am biased, but I have never heard a better narrator. So clear and with so much expression. There were some rounds of applause at the end of songs which they hadn't had at yesterday's performance apparently . He wasn't expecting it, but like a professional he waited, smiling until it died down before speaking. My little star!

As he will be in Key Stage 2 next Christmas there will be no Christmas play, so it was lovely to see this one.

I was with his other gran (who sadly had dementia now) and grandad. We, with GS, got totally lost leaving the school, finding locked doors everywhere, and 9 year old girl had to rescue us As GD went to the same school it is hardly the first time we have left a concert after school hours!

In our defence this is a new headmaster, the old one would definitely have made it clear how we were to leave at the end of the performance.

Well done to GS. I used to love watching little ones doing the nativity.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Gem, you must have been so proud of GS2 and I'm sure he will get lots more opportunities to use his talents. It sounds as though he has a natural stage presence and sense of timing. I had to smile at you having trouble finding your way out of the school though. Perhaps the new Head will sign post an (unlocked) exit route for the next evening production.

I hope GS's other grandparents enjoyed it and felt proud of him as well.

Gem, I miss a school nativity play .
GS2 sounds like a confident young man . To speak in front of a crowd isn't easy but at his young years is something you must be very

                Thanks Ladies

Yes I think narrator takes some confidence as you are addressing the audience . His sister has a very quiet voice. He has a very loud one, we spend half our time asking him to talk not SHOUT. It came in useful at last.

Daisy, it was our own fault really. We decided to leave the way we entered, right through the school. In fact we should have left by the small doorway that leads directly from the school hall into the playground! A reminder wouldn't have gone amiss though.

Gem, yes, there should definitely be a reminder for something like that!
