Clover - you can cancel it straight away now, but the month's trial will remain until the expiry date. So I've already cancelled mine, but still get the 'perks' until the end of November. My DS was explaining how all this works - I still don't understand but they do sneak things like using yellow buttons which are usually used to "Continue" for accepting something, and don't make it obvious where you can cancel an error.

Plant - there's free next-day delivery, but most other things seem to relate to streaming videos and music and stuff like that which I don't use. In some areas you can also get same day deliveries, but we live too far out in the sticks for that!

We’ve had our money’s worth out of it. All the online shopping I’ve done in the past few months, all free delivery, free books either for my kindle or to borrow and lots of different films etc to watch too. I wasn’t sure about it at first but Now think it’s worth a couple of coffees out per month ( that’s what it works out at).

That's interesting, Enfys, and I'm glad you've found it useful. I'll certainly stock my Kindle up! Our broadband speeds still aren't good enough to watch films etc.

I just hate the way they try to push you into accepting things 'by the back door'. I know it's the way they work, but it's a bit sneaky!

Enfys, I think I will let my trapped membership continue and see how much I use it. I just object strongly to the way they trap you into joining.

It was after we had a trial run that we decided to use it. It’s easy enough to cancel if you don’t like it.

With all this talk of Christmas, I think I will get out the Christmas card box and see how many we have from last year. I will get Mum's card box next time I go to her house but I know she has plenty.

Now Gem, you are getting ahead of yourself! It is only the 3rd week in October!! There are about 8 weeks still to go, so about 5 or 6 before you have to do anything.

I spent some of this morning buying family cards from Moonpig. I think with the current lockdown set to last at least a month, sales will rocket and delivery waits become longer.

This evening I have spent a lot of money Christmas shopping (online) in our lovely local independent shop! She had just got it all lovely for Christmas , and now she will close on Wednesday until December. The things are lovely, she delivers to my door, and it's good to shop local

Gem - I think there is some provision for click-and-collect service in some shops.

The timing of this lockdown is devastating for certain types of shops - it's certainly the busiest month of the year for my DS2.

I usually buy Christmas cards from several different charity shops, but I expect they are also classed as 'non-essential', so I think I ought to try and get them in the next couple of days in case lockdown is extended beyond 2 December. That will be a 'first' for me, getting them so early!

I have my cards, never done it before but I bought them last Feb. Problem is I am not keen on them now.

Oh dear Plant. What a shame your not keen on them now.
