I mostly like “ natural “ decorations and static lights. Don’t like plastic “tat”.

We have always put up any decorations on 15th December to celebrate DS1s birthday and it has become the norm now.
I have 2 x Christmas wreath's one on the front door and one on the end of the bungalow,we will also bring through the living Christmas tree we bought when we had our first Christmas here last year and decorate with outdoor lights.
I hate plastic tack and over the years have collected some nice ceramic Christmas ornaments which are put out around the lounge nothing over the top.

We have seen those door bows around hear too , Not a fan at all and especially when they are still there around February looking grubby and limp
My Sister has had all her decs up since last week in October and its like Santas grotto on speed ,
Never seen as much Tat in one place its like walking into the pound shop every room has a tree, lights around the walls, up the stairs in the bathroom even and I bet nothing cost more than £1
She also has my pet hate Streamers on the ceilings

I wouldn't care if she had young children but her youngest GC is 16 and the GGC is not a year yet ,

Can you remember many years ago when we were on the other site and I told you about the tree falling on me as we chatted as it was so top heavy with tat it couldn't stay up ? well she still has it and every year it has to be pinned with string to the wall to keep it up hahaha
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma that's hilarious!!! Pity she doesn't live nr Daisy then you could have taken her for a cuppa & cake...or would it have been eggnog & mince pie? Tell the story about it (the tree) falling on your head again~ I missed it.😃

I was at my sisters and we had been there about half hour , sitting on the sofa and the tree was on a small table /stool next to me
Chatting away when this huge tree fell on top of me , baubles, tinsel ,fake snow , the lot covered me and I couldn't get it off me , Everyone just fell about laughing and no one helped I was covered in stuff , that fake snow gets everywhere , try getting it out of your hair its impossible
They had a dog at the time and he was going potty tugging on the tree with me trapped in it hahaha I ended up on the floor trying to crawl out of it and still no one helped

Grauntie - I can't believe it!! It looks like the house has been wrapped up for a present!! I wondered what everybody was talking about with bows on the door. I've never seen one, which is probably just as well as I'd stand there and laugh helplessly until someone came and carried me away!

Oma - that was hilarious! Rereading it, I got to the bit where you said the dog went potty ...... and gasped "Oh, no, all over Oma and the carpet".
