I pay £28 for a cut and blow dry and she comes to my home, she is a family friend now, has been doing my difficult hair for 28 years.

Just found your post from May 2016 Qwerty, after writing about my awful experiences with the hairdressers in my area. You said you are charged £88. Do you still go there or have you found a new one? I pay between £70-£80. It seems to be the going rate around here.
How I envy those of you paying less & with a home hairdresser too. Surely our hair isn't that hard to cut or colour Qwerty. Something else we have in common.🤣"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

If you're happy with the result, the price doesn't hurt quite so much (although I do realise that spending any serious money on a hairdo isn't possible for lots of people).
I'm glad you've found someone you are happy with, Qwerty."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I think I have mentioned before, but our hairdresser who comes to the house, gets carried away with the scissors at time. She pours out all her problems to us, and if they are bad, our hair is too short!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem, that made ma laugh out loud!!!
It also reminds me of my hairdresser when we lived in Worthing. He was lovely and very creative, and a real movie buff. Every time I went I came out looking (approximately) like the heroine of the film he'd seen the night before! Even when we moved to Surrey I still went back to him, then we moved down here and he went up to Newcastle (I think), and I've never found anybody who was so much fun!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are.
