Enfys what a lovely blanket. The colours look fantastic together Are you keeping it or is it a gift for some lucky friend or relative? 👏👍😍

Is it you that's just started crocheting Enfys? I so want to learn & I will one day. I enjoy making toys & there are some gorgeous crochet patterns about now. Really modern. Love your blanket colours. Well done.
I'm just finishing a little bear for new GD but it's in mohair. I've not knit with this & won't again. The blummin stuff leaves fibres all over. Even on your face. Talk about itchy nose too.
I think her mum will have to keep it as a memento. Shame really as it's turned out lovely.

It is me who is trying to learn to crochet Nana, a friend makes lovely shawls etc and came round to give me some lessons. I am managing to do the stitches if I just go straight but I have been trying to do a square without success.

Plant I don't think its an easy skill. Well done you tho'. Mum taught me to knit when I was a little girl, but because no-one crochet(ed)? in our family I never learnt. I know there's YouTube vids but I'm so much better learning with someone to show me.

Plant, once you get the hang of it it's fine. The main thing when you are learning is to remember the extra stitch at the end of the row or in the corners of a square, the turning chain, so you keep the shape. Honestly, if I can do it anyone can..

I can neither knit nor sew, but at school, when I was about 14 there was craze for crochet and we did it in our lunch times (Voluntarily it wasn't an organised thing) I loved it and could do it, amazingly. I wish I had kept it up.

Have time today to have another go, I find the wool I am using splits and the hook gets caught in the thread. Wish me luck. Enfys how do you post your pictures, they are lovely and large.

Plant, I take the picture on my ipad, so easy to post doing it this way. Good luck with your crochet. What ply wool are you using and what size hook? Wish I lived near you and I could help. Sometimes it's easier when you can see someone do it.

We could have a crochet lesson when we all meet up

My friend who does crochet gave me a lesson and chose the size hook I needed for my wool, had another go today and feel I am understanding what I have to do
