Yes Gem, some glasses cases for Christmas presents and a clutch bag from some leather that was on a briefcase I found in the bushes around the church.(I know it was outside someoneβs house to be taken by the bin men originally) Still up to my neck in boxes but the leather will be next!

Lizzie - your DIL will be over the moon with such a beautiful bag. Can you imagine what that would cost with a 'label' on it! It's gorgeous, and I am totally in awe. Your own bag is fabulous too - that stitching looks perfect, and I can imagine you need the right machine and needles to get a finish like that, as well as the skill.
As Gem says, we have very talented ladies on here.
Grauntie - how are your boxes going?

Lizzie, doing anything in a straight line is almost impossible for me. I blame my left handedness and impatience. I really admired your top stitching. What else do you sew?Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

Grauntie, I did use to sew everything from coats to blouses etc, dresses for the granddaughters, I haven't done as much lately, but, when I am sat sewing I do wonder why I don't do it more often. I put a new lining in a down coat for a friend of mine a couple of years ago, she couldn't bare to part with it as so many feathered friends had to have been killed for the feathers, she never realised that at the time she bought it. She asked me if I could patch the lining up, I re-lined it and it turned out really well, she was so pleased with it.
