    Decorated rocks

These are my first attempts at rock painting, to take part in H**** Rocks, in our village , where rocks are hidden, found by children and re hidden.
Is this a nationwide thing, or just local to me? My village, and DD2's village (on opposite sides of York, many miles apart) both have the painted rock thing

These are to leave around at half term. I will paint some more nearer to the time.
I have also painted one which lives on our front doorstep, and one each for my two older grandchildren.

I am pleased with them for a first attempt. I want to try more intricate designs with more practice.

Gem, they’re great, and both topical and imaginative. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Acrylic paints Clover, from The Range , The Works, Hobbycraft or anywhere that sells art stuff. If they are to go outside they need varnishing with Mod Podge, from the same shops, or any clear varnish

My first one, a fish, I forgot to take a photo of. I put it in the front garden last Saturday and it went on Sunday, so no photo of the that one 😊

Thanks Gem. I thought they might be acrylics but wasn’t sure about the varnish. I love the name Mod Podge. I have seen it in shops so will get some. I already have acrylic paints.

Same here, Clover. I've used acrylic paints for the couple of stones I've done but hadn't got any of the wonderful Mod Podge, but the one outside survived for ages. Perhaps it was because the summer's been so dry and it was under a tree.
