Some of you may have watched the very interesting TV programme last year, about a group of nursery children visiting a care home every week. The experiment did wonders for both age groups , especially the elderly.
My daughter takes GS2, who will be two next month, to a group at a care home in her village. They go on Mondays and it is a singing session with instruments. They hold it in the residents lounge, so any residents who prefer not to go, or who want to go back to their rooms when they have had enough, can do.
DD says the number of residents attending is going up each week. She tells me GS is very sweet and keeps taking toys and intruments to the people watching.
I know my dear dad would have loved this when he was in a nursing home. A lovely idea
