Yes I thought it was a good idea lol to be honest mum would pick them up on her way home from work at 5 which doesn’t give is much time to spend with them and we would have to prepare something separate from our tea where as this way we can all eat together 🙂

The twins might think it's such fun to go to your house that's what they want to do, or they may be so tired at the end of the school day they just want to go home . But it's nice to have options, Qwerty. I live too far away to bring my GDs here after school, so it's not an option for us.

I Know it’s difficult for you Daisy I am lucky, bringing the kids to ours is ok in the light weather but not sure when the nights draw in

Every thing becomes so much harder in the dark evenings, doesn't it!

I don’t feel mine are ready emotionally for reception class, I spoon fed them both this week to get food down them as they were desperate to sleep lol, M is such s tiny fragile little bird soon cries if you do much as slightly raise your voice, J can’t stay upright for long I can see some accidents, they are I don’t say bright it seems a bit bragging but not daft by any means they are ready intelligence wise , I suppose after a little while they will seem more grown up, my 💔 will break a little then 😪

From now to September is 6 months Qwerty, so they will have changed quite a bit by then, so try not to worry too much.

Qwerty - I do feel for you. I was the same when GD1 was starting school. She was 4 plus one week, and although ready intelligence wise, she had still been having an afternoon nap which we had to stop a few weeks before she started school. We had visions of her falling asleep in class, and she eats very slowly (still does) she'd never get through her lunch. She wasn't the smallest in the class, but very slight, and had no idea how to cope with the rough and tumble of the playground. Fortunately she had a really brilliant teacher who very quickly 'got' her strengths and weaknesses. Even now, in Year 4 she's still a bit timid in the playground, but adores school and can't wait to do homework when she has it.

The twins will get a chance to go into their 'big' school during the summer term, and a lot of schools just have Reception class in on the first day of term. By the way, GD1 has twins in her year who are even younger than her - they are both boys and were in different classes, which I think was the parent's choice.
