An update on this...
My grandson is finally 4!! He was born in October 2012, but only last week became 4, in his eyes! I am glad because I was beginning to think he would have to miss out 4 all together and go straight to 5!
They had cake, of course!
He's still adamant he doesn't want to grow up, but we tell him it is a long, long time ahead and by then he will probably want to.
He was surprised the other day, when he and I were talking about family relationships to learn that he could be a father one day. He seemed quite keen, apart from the part about having his own home, for him and the babies mummy. He told me he wanted to live with his mummy and daddy for ever. I told him that he and his wife and baby could still live with mummy and daddy if that is what they all want.
I haven't broken it to DD yet

Gem - very happy 4th birthday to your amazing GS. Actually, with the promise of cake he might want to be 5 as early as next week!
Most little boys go through a phase of wanting to marry their mummies, so he's ahead of the game on who he's going to marry. He's a very deep thinker, bless him. there's always the possibility that mummy might turn down any proposal, though.

GD2 had a strop this morning because Father Christmas hadn't been! She was convinced it was Christmas Day again AND her birthday! She's now decided that tomorrow will be The Day!!!

Nana - GD2's birthday is 27 December. I think she got so confused with Christmas Day then her birthday she thinks they happen every week!
