When my GD1 was ill last year I taught her to knit - with very useful advice from some GRU Grannies. She's continued to knit small things like gloves etc, but has also taught herself to crochet. (Isn't YuTube wonderful!) She's made all sorts of things from clothes and bags to little toys and decorations. She has a steady market with friends at school and the local wool shop has featured some of her makes in their window. So she thought it would be fun to have a stall at the Christmas craft market held in a local museum at the end of this month.
GD2 didn't want to be left out of this exciting venture of course, so she has been making tree baubles using paint pouring techniques her mum has taught her. But her output is rather slow and she's worried she hasn't got enough stock!
Their mum has recently made a lovely range of mugs, coasters and tote bags based on her own paintings so she will take some of those, and I've offered to make some hanging Christmas tree decorations which GD can use to add to her stock. I think I will use pyrography to decorate the wooden blanks, but my first job today is to sand them to get a really nice smooth finish.
The market is outdoors, so we're keeping fingers crossed for a fine day!
