Sounds as if GS1 is having a fab time Daisy and has found his work niche! I bet the rest of the workforce will miss him when he goes back to school.

Oma - that is very perceptive of you. I think he will find it hard to go back to school, but yesterday he said to his other gran that he's got to work hard for the next year to get his GCSEs, then he wants to get an apprenticeship in IT at the same place. It was fantastic to hear such a mature and sensible attitude, and I hope and pray he can see it through.

I haven't been in touch with his mum properly today but she sent a photo of him working on the company's IT Support Hot desk! I'm sure he would have loved that.

His mum said he had another good day, but was over-stimulated at home tonight (Clover and Oma will know exactly what I mean). Hopefully he will get enough sleep and be ok for tomorrow. Mum is really pleased that he seems to be mirroring the behaviour of the adults he's working with rather than the teenage boy syndrome. Fingers crossed, yet again!

What a delightful boy. Proud Grandma no doubt.

Well, all good things must come to an end, and GS1 is now back at school. The first morning he tried to wriggle out of school by claiming he had a tummy ache (after scoffing his usual huge bowl of cereal for breakfast!) He's certainly not thrilled to be back in the classroom, and would leave tomorrow if he could.

We haven't seen him for a few weeks, so it was a surprise when we were at their house on Sunday to find out his voice has broken! I'd forgotten how strange this seems at first - and he sounds quite like his dad! Yet another milestone reached for my first-born grandbaby!!!

Yes it comes a bit of a shock when their voices break Daisy.

Aww bless. So much change going on in his life. I bet he wonders where the new voice came from.πŸ˜‰

I hope he has settled back to school now Daisy.
My DD2 loved her work experience (at a hairdressers) and took a while to adjust back to school life, after her stint in the adult world I remember!

Thanks, Gem. No, he's not really settled - he doesn't see the point of school and is never afraid to fight his corner on the subject!

Qwerty - if I ever had students who didn't enjoy their work experience I used to say that at least they now knew what they didn't want to do! By the way - nice mixture - cake decorating and sewage works!!!
