Proud Granny twice over!

GD1 has moved to the Junior School this September, so there's been a whole lot of new buildings, routine and people to get used to. The school has a system of class Senators, who represent their classes' views or suggestions to the staff. There was a process of election by the children - the top 5 children were then voted for again and GD1 won! she had to do her own hustings and everything.

She's super proud, and as one of the very youngest it gives her a lot of confidence. She had a suggestion of her own - that the class should have a Suggestion Box the children can put their ideas into!

GS2 has made a big decision. He had piano lessons for a while and passed his Grade 1 over a year ago, then suddenly decided he didn't want any more lessons. Now he's asked if he can go back which is great, and it's something I enjoy sharing with him when we see each other.

Mimi - it's a complete mystery where GD1 gets her genes from! She adores school, can't wait to get at her homework, loves Maths and reading and is a bit of a perfectionist. We don't even know people like that, let alone have any in the family! When she was a baby and toddler I always used to say she'd been here before because she seemed to understand things by instinct. It's fascinating watching her grow and develop her interests.


I don't know whether GS2 wants to play for pleasure or carry on with his exams. I don't mind either way - I never took any exams beyond Grade 1 because I couldn't see the point and it was such a terrifying thing to do!!!

Well done both of them , your GD must feel very grown up its says a lot about her when others have voted for her such an achievement ,
GS has had a rest and now ready to start again , he will enjoy it more as its his choice to return,
My GS1 hasn't played piano for a while he gave up and now does Guitar , but still tinkles the Ivory's when he's in the mood he hasn't forgotten how , we hoping he will go back to it when he's ready too,

Oma - It's good that your GS1 still enjoys playing the piano. He's done well getting to the stage where he can just play for enjoyment. I'm sure it's also helped him with the guitar. Is he learning acoustic or electric guitar?

I think it's wonderful to play an instrument and the piano would be my choice my eldest plays the clarinet well learning anyway, perhaps we will have a budding Elton John from your G/s 🎹

Well done to your DGCs Daisy its wonderfully encouraging when our little people get recognised by their peers isn't it gives them such a boost in their lives,DGS must have missed his piano a lot so well done him,I do wish at least one of mine had musical tendencies but they preferred out door sports where you had to stand in the cold and support from the touchline. (bbrrrr).
