GJ, we are all behind you, Rhys and your whole family.
I know this must be an exciting but very anxious time for you all.
I hope you have a lovely time with Ryan staying and wish Rhys, brave boy that he is, all the luck in the world.
I shall certainly be thinking of him on Friday and sending him my very best wishes and positive thoughts xx

Thank You Gem, I'll let you know how things go, if DD doesn't beat me to it on the FB page.

Just to let you know Rhys' op has been cancelled. So far we only know it's due to "clinical reasons"
We'll get the info tomorrow and will re book for asap.
Good job DD was able to cancel the hotel at no cost.
Rhys just said, "That's rubbish!" and carried on. He went to all the class rooms to tell them all he'll be in school for the rest of the week, because the op was off.
One little friend said that's sad but at least we get to see more of Rhys before he goes to hospital.
I hope they get him in soon.

Oh dear! How frustrating to be all geared up for it.
Thanks for letting us know GJ.

Sorry for the delay in telling you on here, but I can only msg from my laptop and it's on it's way to the bin shortly, grrr!
But Rhys's op is now scheduled for 7th July. Daddy has had to go away on one more business trip, but only to Austria, ( lucky man).. His work has been working around Rhys' op dates. They've been really supportive. Head office is in Austria, not sure if that makes them more family friendly.
The physio people are ready for action as soon as they're called.
So all is sorted, yet again. It's a good job DD forte is "Organisation". It must have cost her a lot in phone calls and patience. She's like her Dad and doesn't suffer fools gladly, and she seems to come across a few. But it feels so rewarding when she finally gets the plan to come together.
I'm not sure how others less able manage to get anywhere. It makes you worry for their children, and it's not their fault.
Rhys is getting some more swimming and riding in before the op, both good therapy for him, and fun too.
The laptop smells like it's burning, so going over to read about new ipads, I think I saw someones got a new one.

Thanks for the info. update Jules, I am thinking about that young man. You might like to know that we have two children in our village with the same problem as Rhys. There has been a lot of fun raising for them.

Well a bit of a drama this morning!
Rhys and family were setting off for Nottingham hospital at 7.30 this morning. Just before they left they got a phone call to say there wasn't a bed for Rhys at the moment
He still had a renal appointment at 10.30 so they decided to go anyway and hopefully by Doctors Rounds someone would be going home.
They're not even there yet and have heard a bed has been found.
Daddy told Rhys, "They've found you a bed, Rhys!" "Where was it?" he asked. Such innocence, Mummy's stomach has been doing somersaults , hope it settles down. There's still a lot to get through.
The operation is planned for 1pm tomorrow , should take 3.5 hours.
I'll let you know how it goes. Please send good vibes and prayers. They worked wonders when he was born. Thank you all xxx

I thought it was today GJ, so was looking for a post from you.

How awful, thinking it may yet again be cancelled, and right at the last minute, but great news that a bed became available.
                          Rhys's comment was so sweet

I am sending all my good wishes and thoughts to Rhys and all of you for tomorrow. I will tell my mum when I see her later and she will pray for him.
All will be well I'm sure xxxxx

So glad things are sorted out GJ It's bad enough facing the op.but any uncertainty over getting the go-ahead must be unbearable. No wonder your DD's tummy is in knots.
I'll certainly be thinking about you all and send my love and prayers.xxx

They seem to be all settled. Just had a bit of a chat with Rhys as he's bored and the ward's noisy. He's got special pjs for tonight and a special gown for the op. There's a charity that makes them to fit each child, they're really smart and in the right colours for Rhys, red.
He's been told he will be in early about 9/9.30 ish.
It was lovely to hear from him, he sounds so confident and grown up.
For those on Facebook DDs put some pics and a video on. You might be able to see them.
