                That was a lovely day!

We had GD here from the previous afternoon. She ate with us, had her shower then we all watched some Junior Bake Off together.
The following day GS1 arrived ,bright and early. He and GD were quite excited and dashed about a bit

At 9.30 our friends arrived with 3 GC, all came inside. Much excitement and hugging between the girls, and GS1 introduced to everyone.
Their eldest GD and my GD are the closest friends, so always want to be together when we meet up We took her in the car with us. GS1 talked none stop almost all the way. The girls tuned out in the end!
The day was fine and sunny, with just a few clouds. The paddling pool, beach, lunch and park were all a huge success. GS blended in well with the others, and it was nice for our friends GS, 9, to have another boy in the mix.
GS1 was having such a good time in the pool and sea, he would have stayed in for ever if he could
He was a very good. I am so glad that we made the decision to include him. He obviously understood about and was proud to be included in this existing tradition.
He was very very loving to me all day, coming for kisses and cuddles a lot. This is so nice for me, as GD is not physically affectionate. Her hug is sidle up to you and kind of lean on you!

Coming home the 2 older girls opted to travel in our friends car with their GS who is a quiet boy who just read Harry Potter all the way home. Our friends younger GD came in our car with GS1. They are equal on the chattering stakes

All back to ours to claim the correct grandchildren. Everyone came in and I made teas and coffees. DD1 who was supposed to be collecting both children and dropping GD off on the way home, was called to an emergency of a friend. DD2 then had to come, bringing GS2 who she had just collected from his other gran! She parked on the road as our drive was full, and when she told him we were at Grandmas house he didn't believe her as he didn't recognise if from there! Once he got in he was overjoyed to see us all, and 5 children became 6

A great day, which made me very happy.

Gem - what an absolutely perfect day. I'm so glad GS1 rose to the occasion. They usually do, but the adults always have that little niggling doubt, don't they (us!) I think everyone gained by GS1 going on the adventure - another boy in the mix, and another chatterbox to chatter with your friend's chatterbox.

These are the sort of days that children will still be remembering when they're our age. Happy memories for everyone. xx

A busy noisy day Gem but sounds just the sort of day we used to have when the boys were little ,
GS1 was being very grown up wasn't he , probably he was too excited to think about being naughty , and he had all the other children to play with too so it wasn't all focused on him , he' s a lovely boy though and I bet those cuddles were gold

And here we are again, a year later!
Tomorrow is the date of this annual trip.
Only GD for us, as sadly DD1 booked their only weeks family holiday for the same week! I feel sorry for GS1 as he was keen to come again. Next week I am getting together with GS1, my friends and their GS, so we will do something, possibly seaside again!

The forecast is not brilliant tomorrow, but I'm sure we will have a good time.

Enjoy your trip out Gemini, I do hope it is better weather than I drove into yesterday, near Rotterdam the heavens opened!!!!! Hailstones, rain, thunder etc, couldn't see the road in places, I followed a lorry, not too close and hoped he knew what he was doing! Then arriving here there had been no rain at all and it is only 15 minutes away.

We all had a lovely day - despite the weather.
