Gem, sometimes days out are just as memorable for bad weather as good! Glad everyone enjoyed themselves.

Being gluttons for punishment, we are going back again tomorrow!!
We had planned meeting up with GS1 and friends GS, but not what to do. As neither of the boys could come last week, we have decided to take them tomorrow.
My OH will be on the golf course. P may come along on his bike (motor, not push!!) or may stay at home as C doesn't think we will all fit in one car and it seems daft to take two. He may take the opportunity for a day at home alone, as they had GDs for 2 weeks, and GS this week.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Yesterday we decided to hit Filey again, for our day out with both boys . My friends 10 year GS and my GS1, 6, 7 in a couple of months time.
The sun shone and we felt bad the boys had missed out on last weeks trip so we decided to take them.
My OH couldn't come this time, as Tuesday is golf competition day. My friend C kindly drove the boys and me in her car, while her OH , P, came on his Harley. I think he appreciated to chance to get out on it
The weather was so much better than the previous week when we took the girls. Mostly sunny, a few cloudy spells, no rain , and lovely and warm.
The boys were good, got on well and and had fun. We did all the usual things. Paddling pool, beach, including sea for the boys. Up the Hill of Hell (as I call it ) for a leisurely fish and chip lunch, then heading back towards the car park via the playpark, with ice creams all round. The boys had half an hour on a pedalo together, which they enjoyed.
GS1 was so good - until it was time to go home (not because he didn't want to go, he was welcome to stay the night) I will write about this somewhere else, as it is not really about our day out.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - just catching up. I'm sure the boys will want to repeat their lovely day out next year. You've started another tradition!
Plant - I grew up a long way from the sea, but we used to go out in the summer for day trips when I was a child. We're lucky now to be 5 -10 miles away, depending on whether on want river estuary or proper sea, and although I don't go that often I love knowing that I can go and get my seaside fix anytime I need it.
