    seaside again!

Each summer since my granddaughter was 3 we have met up with our friends and their grandchildren, when they have them to stay, to go the seaside for a day.
It started with my GD, then 3 and theirs, aged 5. Eventually her younger sister joined us when she was 5. Last year we also took our friends GS, cousin of the girls. and a year older than my GD The 4 children have been out to various places together and all get on very well.

This year for the first time I have invited my GS1. Most of you will know why I have been reluctant to include him any sooner, although GD did ask if he could come last year! We have planned it for GS1's regular day with me.
We have busy day, which will suit him I think. Also he adores his older cousin, and will be on better behaviour with 3 unknown children and 2 unknown adults

We do the same routine each year. Beach, big paddling pool above the beach, up the hill for a fish and chip lunch in a cafe, down to the playpark, with ice creams, then home. I have invited GD to stay here the night before.
This is at the end of the month.
I will report back and hope my faith is GS1 is not misplaced

Gem - it sounds like a lovely inter-generation day out which has become a tradition for you all. I'm sure GS1 will rise to the occasion, although I understand your misgivings. It may help if he knows exactly what to expect in terms of the order of all those lovely treats. Does his behaviour change if his blood sugar dips a bit? If so, sensible snack like fruit might help to keep him on an even keel.

I do hope the sun shines for you all.

He may surprise you Gem and be a perfect Angel
Daisy does have a point about his sugar dipping that might make him a bit cross worth trying with fruit , Bananas will give him a boost if he will eat them

Brilliant. I seem to remember you went to YWP last year...or was it the year before? Time goes so quickly.

We went in the Easter holidays this year Nana. Our friends took their 3 youngest GC ( theiir oldest is at uni!) and we took GD.
It was a very cold day !!

                We do Filey every summer.

How special. I love Filey. Dad was a miner & we always spent our summer holidays in a caravan at Primrose Valley. The caravan park still exists but are Haven Holidays now. Enjoy the beach & fish & chips.

Next Tuesday is the day. We are all looking forward to it especially GS1, as it is his first time.
He told me that there is to be 'Zero naughtiness' from him. Obviously Mummy has been having a word
