Gem you're right...it's a nightmare. I've just foned the salon & asked if a different hairstylist can sort the colour for me. I also asked for an experienced person. The appointment is on Monday & the hairdresser has 20yrs experience.

I have an appointment at a new hairdressers tomoro to see if she can do anything with the cut. My dilema.... do I still go there or wait til Monday to ask the lady whose sorting the colour? How hard can this be😠

I think I'd go to your appointment tomorrow and tell her the whole story, including you're not sure whether to ask her to try and improve the cut there and then, or would she rather wait to see if the other salon can sort out the colour on Monday.

You could also ask what the new salon thinks about the colour.

You'd laugh Daisy. I txt both DDs tonight to ask what they think I should do. Guess what ?.... both gave opposite answers🤤 Your suggestions are sound, so I think I'll go with that. Keep my app't with the new salon tomoro but ask if she thinks I should wait for the cut til after the colour correction on Monday.

Pleased your experience with your hairdresser was a good one. I envy those of you who have had your hairdressers for yrs. The stylists know your personalities/the shape of your head & the way your hair behaves, which I think goes a long way to a sucessful outcome.

Since this thread was first started I have lost my regular hairdresser she has moved abroad with her family so I am in the same position as some others trying to find someone I can trust, luckily I only need to have a trim from the length every so often and a trim on my fringe but you would be surprised how many hairdressers can get it wrong the times the back cut has been wonky is it so hard to cut in a straight line.
At the bottom of my Road a new beauty parlour has opened who also does hair they are advertizing restyle wash and blow dry for £20.00 for oap on Tues/Wed I only need a trim so will not object at all at paying that just for a trim if they can get it right.
I do my own colour by Nice &Easy I use 2 boxes with me having a lot of hair but it only costs me £10.00 for 2 at Superdrug every 6 mths,to combat any dryness after the dye I have been using Pantene 3 minute miracle Conditioner twice a week its new on the market and is wonderful on my hair well worth the £3.99.

I read somewhere that Pantene products in general have more active ingredients than most others on the market.

                Update....
I went to the new hairdresser yesterday & explained my situation. The salon isn't 'swanky' but it's clean. The hairdresser listened & fixed the main problem, hiding the scar. We're working towards growing it into a good style. When she looked at it, it was 2" longer in places. She obviously couldn't make it right the 1st visit so cut it into a better shape.

When I told her about the colour she could see what was wrong. Said to watch the other stylist didn't do this & that so I said I'll forget the other stylist & stick with her. So I think I may have found my hairdresser. We had a good laugh too. And guess what? For a cut, wash & blow dry it was £24. Doesn't it give us a boost when our hair looks as we want it?

Oh Nana I am so pleased for you and that you are well on the way to being sorted, what a difference it makes when we can talk to someone and they actually listen to what we are saying,I go on Tuesday for a trim at the hairdressers at the bottom of my Road I only have 1or 2" trimmed off but it really makes a difference as to how it lies and the overall bounce in my hair I know when it needs a trim when it goes flat and lifeless (a bit like myself at the minute) she is doing on the OAP offer so I will be a happy person to say the least.

Thanks everyone. I'm pleased that you understand. It took me years to feel comfortable living with the scar. It's not a scar that's a line but a 2" circular scar. Happy bunny as it's hidden again.
