    August Bank Holiday

The last Bank Holiday week-end before something or other in December!

Have you got any plans, or do you stick close to home to avoid the crowds?

The Friday is GD1's 7th birthday, so we hope to see her to give her her presents. On Saturday we will be taking GS1 home. On Sunday OH is going off on some kind of car rally/show (no, I haven't been paying attention when he's talked about it, so I only know it's near Guildford) and we have nothing planned for the Bank Holiday Monday. It's not worth adding to the gridlocked roads, so we'll most likely stay at home.

Blissful nothingness Daisy. We try hard to avoid any travel on a Bank Holiday weekend. Plenty of crowds here if we want them though. Luckily we live along the quiet end.
I am always pleased for the sea front traders when the weather is good. They need the business. 🍦🍣🌭🍔🍭🍺☕️

Same here, GM. If the weather's good the crowds stay - and spend! If we didn't have summer visitors our village would have a lot of empty shops, but I was a bit put out the other day when I couldn't get into my usual Forest car park to walk Eva. The rest of the year I'm often the only one there! Didn't they know it's "my" car park!

We'll be having GS1 as usual on a Monday. Not sure if we'll go out or just entertain him at ours!

Hadn't even noticed that this weekend is a bank holiday so obviously we have nothing planned. I think it will be just a normal day for us.

GS2 & GD are staying for a sleepover Sunday - Monday while mummy & daddy visit friends without children. They're going to have a 'grown up' time.🙄

We never go far on a bank holiday. We'll be recovering from this little trip I think

It's sounds like a quiet week end for most of us grannies, but I always think they are less important when you're retired, apart from maybe seeing family.

Nana, you're going to be a busy lady!

The August Bank Holiday Week-End is always a busy time here near Liverpool City Centre & Pierhead Dockland Area, the area surrounding Albert Dock are having improntu shows of Shanti-Songs from groups from all over the World displays all kind of Craft Fares and stages where musicians can just take up the microphone and do their thing, special trips down The Mersey on the ferries,I go every year and always visit Matthew Street and meet up with fellow Beatles fans for a couple of hours in The Grapes or Strawberry Fields pubs, the atmosphere is fantastic I go over alone with my little overshoulder Beatle Bucket bag (circa 1960) and always meet people to chat to,so I know what I am doing but don't have a clue what the rest of the family are up to !! but there is plenty of food for them as the chef is on strike this week-end.

Glamm - that sounds great fun. I love Liverpool anyway, and I can imagine in party mode like that it will be great. Don't forget to tell us all about it, please.

We were only talking about the ferry yesterday. We used to go over from Birkenhead when OH worked in Victoria Street, then Dale Street, and I worked in the Littlewoods shop building in the city centre.
