    Just bought a Motorhome!

Very excited, and looking forward to collecting our new to us Motorhome! Haven't camped since the days our boys were little and we had a caravan - I'm sure it will be good fun.
Look forward to hearing all your tips please.

Avo - how wonderful! We debated long and hard whether to get a motorhome or a towing caravan last year, and eventually chose the caravan option, but I see more and more motorhomes on the camp sites. Also more and more motorhomes towing a small car.

I haven't got enough experience to give tips, and I don't know whether yours is new or 'preloved'. Our van was preloved and we had a very thorough service, plus new tyres before we used it. We joined the Caravan and Motorhome Club and really like their sites - very clean and well run. Plus, their insurance was very good, too. We decided to start minimalist, taking only the bare necessities and gradually added things as we needed them - mainly bits and bobs for the kitchen. We use the awning a lot - it's lovely to sit out there in the evening if it's a bit too chilly for the great outdoors, and provides a handy place for drying off a wet dog etc.

The only irritating chore was putting the bedding away each day and making it up again in the evening, and I don't like sleeping in a sleeping bag, so we've treated ourselves to two Duvalays, but with your sewing skills, I'm sure you could make one.

Luxury bedding and mattresses for your home and on the move in your campervan, caravan or motorhome

Lovely Avo. Our friends have one and they are always away in it, go abroad a lot too. I'm sure you will enjoy it. We thought about getting one a coup,e of years ago but DH really doesn't enjoy driving much now, especially longer distances, so decided against it. Have fun 🤗

Have fun Avo, we towed a caravan for years, only in the country, never abroad, as Daisy said the club sites are very good. Enjoy the open road.

I'm so jealous we had a VW Campervan when the children where small and travelled abroad in it for quite a few summers and very enjoyable times we had, when we lived abroad you would find lots of Norwegians/Scandinavian/German couples would drive through to Spain and spend the winter they helped with the local economy as they used all the local shops/restaurants that would otherwise be very slow with business. Some of the homes you see now are amazing there is an Outlet not far from me on The Top Chester Rd which sells some wonderful models.Enjoy your travels am green with envy.

Keep us posted please Avo. We're so tempted to get one. OH is 6' tall, thereabouts & I did wonder if there's much 'standing room'.

Daisy it has a fixed bed, so no making Beds each day! So will buy a new duvet as we only have a winter weight spare double.
I think we too will start with the minimum and see what we need as we go along.
Got to wait till September to pick it up.

OH would sell his soul for a motorhome. I've always been against it as I know we wouldn't use it enough. I'm sure the rest of the family would though!!

I'm looking forward to weekends away (long ones 😆)! Obviously, we still have Portugal, but we also want to explore UK and Europe.
