    We said not again.

When we came back from Benidorm in January, both myself and hubby said it will be quite a while before we go back.
Nothing wrong with it,but we have been so many times.
Well guess what,we are going back at the beginning of April.
The 2 sets of friends that we went with in January, asked us to go.
We would have gone somewhere different, but at least we know we will have good company, which is a bonus.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto - Why not go back. You had a good time and enjoy your friends' company. You don't have to waste time finding good places to eat etc. The the weather will be warmer in April. What's not to like.

You can always choose somewhere different for the next time.

Yes, that is the reason we like to go to the same place in Cornwall, home from home. It seems my DD and SIL have booked a large house in France end of July for a fortnight for all the family, including me and SIL's mother, no sure who will be going yet but it has 6 enormous bedrooms, swimming pool etc. GS and his partner will have a three month old baby then so not sure if they would want to drive that far.

We went to Mojacar in Spain for many years and I can remember saying the same thing for the same reason Nan2. Right now I'd give my eye teeth to go there...or anywhere. 😬

Husband says the same about Barbados. It is his turn to choose "the big one" this year. We are off to Feureventura in a few weeks where we have never been before. Just home from south of France which was lovely. I am not sure I have ever been to Benidorm. My parents had what they called a villa in Estapona donkeys years ago (around 1962) but that was when we lived in Gibraltar and the border was open. It wasn't a villa really it was a sort of little chalet but hey it made them happy. I remember the communal swimming pool was quite disgusting and had frogs in it and I also remember the locals driving the bulls along the beach, used to frighten me half to death!

Nanto, when you have been to Benidorm have you ever got on to the no.10 bus and taken the ride through the top end of Lanvante Beach to Albir and then down the edge of the Meditarainian towards Alfaz del Pi it is a good ride and the bus goes every half hour, you can hop on and off if you buy a day ticket and enjoy these other two towns all with their quirky little streets in Alfaz and in Albir there are loads of restaurants and a fabulous prom to walk down with your friends. We lived in Albir for a very long time and it is very dear to my heart.

Glamm - that sounds like a lovely interesting day out. It's always great having local knowledge. I seem to remember you saying you were there for ten years or more?

Daisy yes we where living in Albir for nearly 10yrs I took early retirement and off we went when youngest son joined the Forces,Albir is a plesent smaller Coast side area so different to Benidorm but still close enough to enjoy the bright lights if you wanted to,we never really bothered only when it was Fiesta Season (September) then the whole area was alive and very enjoyable the Spanish can certainly put on a show.I miss it dreadfully and all the good friends we made but hey-ho we made a nice profit when we sold and can now enjoy the fruits of all our hard work over those years which really didn't seem like work at all due to the enviroment we where in.

Glamm - what a wonderful experience, and I think brave of you to uproot yourselves and move to a foreign country. But what wonderful memories you have, and as you say, you can now enjoy the rewards. It's funny how work doesn't seem like work when you're enjoying it.

Gems, you wouldn't believe some of the things we got up to during the years we lived there and some of the most excentric people we meet, such as Christopher the lead singer of The Temperance Seven (a group from the 60s) my lovely gay pal Michael who got his tights caught climbing over his fence after loosing his keys and explaining to the Guardia as to why he was dressed in a leopard skin coat and blonde curly wig!! very innocent but very funny,I will gather all my thoughts for when we come back on holiday and spend a few days keeping you all in stitches of laughter.
