Thanks GM, the weather isnt very kind today! Fine fast drizzle so far, although it is looking a bit brighter. It was very nice when we arrived yesterday late afternoon.
Nothing we can do about it, rather like the referendum!!
We went to the Minack theatre to book tickets for tomorrow nights performance. No rain forecast , which there is for evenings later on.
Last night we ate in the local pub, 2 minutes walk down the hill. It was a most entertaining night. The bar was full, it was manic, the poor staff were run off their feet trying to serve us all. It turned out that as well as locals and people like us who had arrived that day, there was a function on. The play at the Minack has an all American cast, over here from Massachusetts . They were having a buffet in a side room, lots of people!. Some of the teenage members came through to play pool (-or try to LOL) They were nice kids, not at all bratty. Their main pleasure seemed to be asking the lady behind the bar for straws for their drinks!
Our apartment is nice. As it is on the ground floor, with our own entrance and parking space right outside, it feels as though we are in a cottage.
Hope to explore the beach tomorrow.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Our DD is in Cornwall for the week and she has just sent us a photo of them having a picnic on the beach...in the rain . They are determined to have a good time but she says it is very cold and they have lit the log burner! Luckily their cottage sounds lovely. Hope you enjoy the theatre tomorrow, Gem, it is somewhere I've always wanted to go."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Yesterday we went to St Ives, taking Plants advice and sitting on the platform side of the train for the best views
It was wet and miserable when we arrived, but by the time we had a leisurely lunch and browsed a few shops, the sun came out. We liked St Ives/
Today we went to the Eden Project. Rain was forecast all day, but in fact it hardly rained at all! This meant we could see all the outdoor gardens as well. We enjoyed our day, especially the rainforest dome, but did think it was overpriced. We bought a combined ticket for Heligan too, and are going there on Friday.
We couldn't be bothered to go out again to eat tonight, so we picked up M and S meals on the way home“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Today we went to Lands End, Mousehole and St Just. We had a cream tea in St Just, then ended going back there for dinner as the pub we intended to go to had just stopped serving food when we arrived. We drove back through swirling mists. Rather OH than me driving down those narrow lanes any time, let alone in the dark and fog Any of you who have driven in Cornwall have my total admiration!
DD3 and OH arrived in Bude today. We had hoped we may meet up but it won't work out. We will get together to compare holidays once they are back. I am crossing my fingers for much better weather for them than we have had!
Off to Heligan tomorrow.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

A lovely day today
We went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which were wonderful. It only rained twice, very briefly each time. We walked and walked, I almost fell asleep in the car on the way back! We had a good meal on the way home.
Tomorrow we leave. We have to be out by 10 am, but are in no hurry to leave Cornwall, as we are staying overnight on the way back, as we did on the way down here.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Plant, this morning we sat on Marizion beach, watching surfers and windsailers, overlooking St Michaels Mount.
Now we are in a Premier Inn in South Redditch, much further from the M5 than we though, but we found it in the end!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
