    A nice anniversary break

As some of you know, OH booked a night away for our first anniversary.
To give you the full background. She was originally booked in on that day for an all day golf tournament and evening meal. I wasn't too impressed when I found out, and said so. As I usually do, I got over it and a few days later said not to worry we would celebrate with a meal out another night. She then told me she had removed her name from the list at golf, and had booked us a night away!! (The golf thing was later cancelled anyway as it turns out)
I didn't know where we were heading, but only that it wasn't a long way as we were only staying one night.

We went to Harrogate, to the lovely Hotel Du Vin. I am a big fan of Premier Inns, and not spending too much on hotels. However it is nice, once in a while to stay somewhere a bit special We had a luxurious room, with king size bed, and a massive bathroom with a big, deep bath and a shower my whole family could fit in!
We took prosecco and champagne glasses and enjoyed that in our room before going out to dinner.
We had a really good country pub lunch on the way, and dinner in a bistro round the corner from the hotel, which had been recommended to us. We spent some of yesterday afternoon in Harrogate, before going back to the hotel to chill out and drink prosecco, and today after a leisurely breakfast we went to Knaresborough. A lovely break!
