    Gran Canaria

We had a lovely holiday last week. Very warm during the day, but turned a bit chilly at night, needed a cardigan or a jacket on.
Met some very nice people.Although one couple complained that there was too much entertainment for children, but the hotel was advertised as a family hotel, I suspect they don't have any children, from their ages and how long they had been married.
Personally, we got a lot of our entertainment from watching the kiddies.
Lovely walk down to the harbour, 706 steps, but we used to get a taxi back.
Will upload a couple of photos, when I get round to putting them on the computer.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I'm glad you had a lovely time Nan2.
I know some people prefer to holiday where there are no children, as you say, the hotel was advertised as a family one. Silly of of them to choose it if they don't want childrens entertainment!

Nanto - I'm glad you enjoyed your well-earned holiday in the sun. Somehow, it's not so bad if it's a bit chilly in the evenings if you've managed to find the sun during the daytime. I agree about going to a family hotel - watching the children having fun is part of the holiday.

It sounds as though you must have had good views if the harbour was 706 steps away! Did you count them to check?

Look forward to seeing photos when you get a chance to upload them.

It sounds ideal Nanto I do love The Canaries this time of year just the right temp for me,we meet people who complained about the childrens entertainment when we where in Majorca last year and that was also advertised as a family friendly hotel, you get what pay for they should have gone with saga if they where so against little ones and their enjoyment. It sounds as though you had a lovely time.

Nan2 I'm pleased you had a good holiday. The children are a joy to be with. There's nothing like children's laughter to warm the cockles. I hope that you've come back feeling rested & refreshed. I too look forward to your pics when you have time.

Glad you enjoyed your break and had reasonable weather! We've been to the canaries quite often and only once had a bad week - unfortunately the week we had the grandsons with us! If people don't want children around there are quite a few adult only hotels that they could stay in. Some people seem to be stuck in nitpicking mode and get some kind of satisfaction in fault finding.

We didn't need to count the steps Daisy, they were marked with the numbers.
