Hope you have good weather Gem. A good idea to break up the journey with an overnight stay somewhere.

Saying you're staying overnight in Gloucester has made me think about how far it is from your home to Cornwall! At least it will be mostly motorway driving rather than the narrow country lanes you will get in Cornwall. When I first started driving to Cornwall (with girl friends, long before I met OH) I never noticed the distance (from North Staffordshire) and there were very few motorways in the mid-60s, but I guess we were young then and excited to be going on holiday so the miles just melt away."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. It's a really long way Daisy!
We can't even share the driving, as OHs car is the newer, bigger and better one, so the best for such a long journey. It's manual and I am only licensed to drive automatic. It was her idea to go to Cornwall though, so she is OK with that!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I agree Clover, even an overnight stay in an airport hotel before an early flight adds excitement!
We have allowed 2 days to travel back, and the sitters can stay until the Monday. Depending on how the downward journey goes, OH may decide to do it with just one stay. We haven't booked anything for the homeward journey yet, or decided where to stay.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
