Gem -that sounds lovely. I haven't been down to that part of the coast for a good few years, but it was very scenic. Take care on the narrow roads, though.

You are remembering Clovelly. It is in North Devon and they now charge for you to go down that steep cobbled street!
My grandmother had a massive static caravan in Westward Ho! When I was in my mid teens, we used to all pile in there for long weekends and I remember going to Clovelly several times. Cannot believe they charge to walk down that street now, I suppose they have to do something to maintain it. As I remember they used donkeys with sleds to get things up and down the hill, yes I am talking a long time ago......

We have stayed in Porthcurno many times Gemini, we love that area, totally unspoiled, no doubt you will be going to the Mnack. We are going to St Just again this year, the last week in August.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
How about the Lost Gardens of Helegan, near Mevagissey for an outing. It was certainly better than the Eden Project in my opinion when we went a few years ago.

GM, how interesting you should say that! Yesterday I was telling friends who love Cornwall and have been several times, of our plans . Like you, they much preferred the Lost Gardens of Helegan to The Eden Project

We last went to Cornwall about ten years ago. We went to the Eden project and found it very interesting, we wanted to go to the lost gardens but in the middle of the night before I found husband on the floor of the bathroom in the hotel room and dialled 999. I thought he was having a heart attack, fortunately it was a severe chest infection and that 'twas the end of our holiday. Apart from anything else it was chucking it down so even if he had been fit it probably wouldn't have been the happiest of experiences
