    Holiday booked!

Having talked about it for some time, at last our summer holiday is booked

OH, DD2, SIL, GD, new baby and I are going to Spain for a week. It has to be in the school holidays, which equals hot and expensive! I would prefer to go in the end of May holiday, but the baby will be too young, so end of July it is.
Villa and flights booked, SIL will want to book the hire car, so that's it.
    Really looking forward to it.

We are off this Sunday. I am looking forward to it. Staying at a nice hotel in Gatwick so just have to walk across a covered walkway to get to the terminal.

Happy holidays to you all. I have a holiday booked in May with my eldest GD who is horse mad.We are having a break in Devon on a farm which has a livery where she can ride. Grandma paying of course. I have old friends near there who I am going to see. I am also going with DS's family to our usual haunt in Cornwall. I don't actually stay with them but know they are around.

Gem it is the Sofitel. I have booked meet and greet parking as well. Husband was whinging that it was too expensive but we normally stay around Gatwick the night before (for my sake as I get stressed if we are driving on the day we fly and hit traffic) with parking included and we usually book a lounge in the terminal and actually doing it this way is only about £20 more expensive and we got a deal on a two course dinner the night we arrive. We will be flying early ish so a relatively early get up and over the covered walk way and we are there.

I have such. Lot to do work wise before Friday evening. I am having my hair done tomorrow and have a two hour conference call on Friday for which I need to do some preparation. Plus my filming of the safety video has changed and I have to rewrite the script and distribute it. I am getting myself stressed thinking about it. Where is the gin bottle?

Gem - what a lovely family holiday to be looking forward to.

Zizi - I love the sound of booking the Sofitel before your flight. I hate that feeling of driving against the clock to get to Gatwick, and the uncertainties of the M25. We used to drive up, but nowadays we treat ourselves to a taxi each way. The taxi firm specialises in airport runs from our area and are really brilliant.

No holiday on the horizon for us yet. We'll probably book something in the uK so we can take Eva.

We thought about taxis the last couple of times but when the ads say £80 return and you start to book they ask how many bags, more money each bag, what time? More money according to the time etc. And when you actually look at it (from around here) it is better value to drive and book a hotel. Mind you to get a taxi to or from Heathrow which is a mere spit away from us you would have to take a mortgage out. Quite disgraceful really. PLUS we have a big problem around here with taxi drivers who charge their customers for parking at the airport and then park outside our houses, sometimes for hours, taking up parking spaces and chucking their rubbish out of the Windows, sometimes p-ing into bottles and throwing it out of Windows or over garden fencing. My neighbour found a taxi driver in her garden having a P the other day! Very annoying and completely ignored by the local police who only send their baby faced PCSOs around to patronisingly lecture us on not having a right to park outside your own property.

We are off to India on Tuesday. Think The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. New Dheli, Jaipur, Ranthambhore, Geejargh and of course, Agra to see the Taj Mahal. This trip is for 10 days only so I don't think we I'll have time to draw breath. It has taken me 40 years to get OH to go, but he is getting excited now. 😁👳🏽

                          Will do.
Gem,we went to a villa in Portugal when DD1 was 3 months old, it is deffinately the best way to do it with a tiny baby.
Zizi, we had a similar conundrum re. Taxi or parking. We opted to drive as it's an evening flight and we have plenty of time to get there (says she, laughing up her sleeve 🙄)
Plant, are you going to visit Heligan? It's a few years since we went but even in the drizzle it was a beautiful place to be. Eva would like Cornwall Daisy, no doubt. 🐕😄

No GM we are going right down to near Lands End. Beautiful scenery but I don't think I will make St Ives this year, bit hilly for me now. We are staying in Sennen and St.Just, quite a way from Helligan and the family are after beaches and surfing. I went to Heligan and the Eden Project some years ago with OH. Lovely walks for Eva Daisy
