    Passport problems

DD2, SIL and GD, 5, are going to Greece at the weekend. On a 10 day holiday with friends, and also to spend time with SILs sister, her OH and little girl, my GDs little cousin, who live there.
DD was checking in online yesterday, and realised that GDs passport is about to expire Children's passports only last 5 years, and I think they must have forgotten this!
This morning, SIL brought GD to me, and DD went by train to Durham for a 10 am appointment at the passport office.
She completed all the paperwork there and now they have to wait for the passport to be processed and sent. There is nowhere they can collect it from, she asked!
It should be ready by Thursday, and with them by Saturday, which is when they need it, as they fly Sunday. DD had checked and they can move their outward flight for a fee, is needs be, but hopefully they won't need to.
    Fingers crossed!!!

all I can say Gem is that a few years ago we went to Mauritiius and needed to have six months on the passport before expiry and mine only had three. Husband did the same thing at the passport office in London and we only had a week to go but the passport got to me in time. Good luck to them but I know it is stressful.

Looking on the bright side, what a good job DD noticed when she did! At least they have time to sort it out.

They will need a holiday by the time this gets sorted. Sounds as if it should be with them in good time but don't suppose they'll relax til they have it in their possession.
                xx

Yes, I agree and have told DD and SIL this Glamma, they certainly won't want to prevent a family holiday, so will do their best.
As you say Shem, they will relax when they have her passport in their hands - hopefully tomorrow, Saturday at the latest!
