I know what DS1 will say, " you should have checked mother"!.. I wasn't the only one that hadn't checked though
. It took at least 45 minutes to get to another motorway, following the signs for R! With the help of my navigation and a nice young man behind me, he was in a works van, each time we had to move to another lane he made sure there was space for me as well! He did it the full 45 minutes then when we reached the other motorway I wasn't too sure, he flashed his lights and put the indicator on so I got in the right lane!! How nice of him!! I was telling DS2 when he phoned, he said, " well mother, I would have done the same"! He would as well.
I enjoyed the few days away, even though it was very hot and I got bitten or stung 4 times in the same place, very painful, I think the dreaded horse fly again, I get an allergic reaction!
One morning I called at a "tea garden" for coffee, it was just an ordinary dike cottage from the outside, what a surprise I got, what a garden!!!! I have never seen so many flowers etc, fantastic. All the customers were saying the same. The lady makes all her own bread cakes etc! I promised myself I would go on Thursday for a lunch, like you Nanto, I went up-market!!
I had a cash gift from a friend for my birthday so decided to close my eyes and spoil myself!!!! It was delicious and well worth it. The lady was showing me a garden magazine, there is a full report of her, plus some beautiful photo's in there. This is the website, in Dutch but with good photo's. www.onderdegroenehemel.com
It is still warm and muggy, a lot of rain in some parts of the Netherlands yesterday afternoon and evening, we just had one heavy thunderstorm at 5pm and that was it.
On my way home, on the other motor-way, it was almost 8am and the garden centre farm shop opens at 8am so I decided to be one of their first customers.

Lizzie, lovely photos. What a beautiful area (apart from the horse flies). I hope the bites are healing up now. What a treasure the tea garden is. I like the way tables are tucked into and behind the planting. It feels like a secret garden. I couldn't resist scrolling through the photos of those delicious desserts and cakes - all mouthwatering.
I wish more places "followed the seasons" with their menus. I think we would all benefit from eating more seasonally like we used to.

Daisy, the garden was really lovely! The cake as well!!!
As for the bites, I could post a photo but it would put you all off your meals! The largest blisters have formed, I have never had that reaction before, from one of the ladies at the office I had to get in touch with the doctor, which I did! I have to keep an eye on them and my temperature, keep plenty of cream on them and don't sit in the sun!
You are right about the seasonal eating Daisy, a good thing.
