    Not the Week-end We Planned

I mentioned on Chat that the week-end at DIL1's didn't go as planned.

We got there Friday afternoon, and has a lovely if rather noisy and boisterous evening with DIL, GSs, GS2's girl friend and DIL's mother and step parents. It was good to see them all.

On Saturday morning DIL and I set off for our glass-fusion workshop. It was only about 20 minutes away, and we even parked easily. The lady on Reception looked at us a bit puzzled when we went in to the gallery. She had no booking for us and the class was full! It took a little while to work out that their new computer system had managed to book us in ok - but in another branch 200 miles away. She was very apologetic, but we've all had computer disasters at some time, and DIL and I smiled bravely and said we didn't think we'd make that class in time. Anyway the lady showed us round and we talked about different techniques and types of materials they use which was very useful for me. We've rebooked for a Saturday in July.

This will be our 4th attempt to do this class.

We treated ourselves to a trip to a nearby garden centre as a consolation. It was huge with a fantastic array of plants and all sorts of other goodies. We should have used a bigger trolley. I resisted buying plants, as we've got a busy week and I might not have time to put them in the garden, but I got a lovely hanging ornament to put in the garden, some really pretty Orchid clips for supporting the flowers, and a few other bits and pieces I hadn't seen in our local garden centres.

It was nice enough to sit out in the garden when we got back to DIL's, and she did a lovely roast for dinner.

We got back to DS2's about lunch time on Sunday, just in time for DIL2 to do some extra eggy bread to 'keep us going'. It was great to have time to chat with both GDs and catch up with them. Both Eva and Cooper gave us a good welcome, and I was over the moon with my lovely shiny, spotless car which DS2 had spent the best part of two days sprucing up.

It was so nice to see all 4 of our GCs in one week-end - that doesn't happen often.

Daisy, what mix up about the venue! It sounds as though you both took the news very well. 4th time lucky in July

A good weekend though and as you say to see all 4 GC in a weekend can only be a bonus

Oma, I'm ridiculously pleased to have a lovely shiny car. It's been dirty for so long, I forgotten how nice it looks when it's clean.

I did end up sharing my second helping of eggy bread with the GDs though!
