    First flight

When and where was your first flight?

My first flight was to the Isle of Man, from Leeds/Bradford airport. I was either 10 or
    11. That flight was also my mum's first flight. Dad had flown in the RAF.
I didn't fly abroad until I was in my early 30's, to Portugal.

My DDs 1 and 2 were 10 and 8 when they first flew ( that flight to Portugal)
DD3 first flew at 3 months old and most years throughout her childhood.

GD and GS2 usually fly at least once a year. GS1 has flown 4 times in his 12 years, and little one once so far.
He's not 3 yet, so time for more travel. I know they want to take him to Canada where they lived for a year.

Our first flight was in 1988. We went to Yugoslavia, as it was called then.

The longest flight we have had,was the first time we went to Las Vegas. That was 11 hours.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

First flight was to Germany when the children were small,

I'm not keen on flying now for me it's stressful, I have to see to all the cases then there is Bs wheelchair,
He needs that as if we are doing a lot of walking he can't manage so the wheelchair comes with us ,
Then there is the stress of it arriving undamaged ,
We have to arrange assistance to get on and off the plane .
Plus I'm not good at long flights .
To me it's not worth the hassle.
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I was about 4 or 5 when I first flew. It was in a biplane, and I can clearly remember looking down and being able to see the beach and the sea through a gap in the floor! I thought it was the most wonderful thing ever, and the second time I flew was a year or so later in a similar plane off the beach at Weston super Mare! I was about 18 before I flew in a proper commercial plane from Manchester to London and then on to Paris, on my own to go and stay with my French friend in Provence.

Oma, I can understand how stressful that must be - and flying has got much more complicated these days with all the essential security. Even choosing a flight etc seems to be a minefield of hidden costs as well.

I think my first flight was like Nanto's to Yugoslavia, Zadar, that is where GD1 and BF are going in August.

My longest flight was when I went to Alaska, had a few flights over the years, but, many more ferry crossings.
