    Barcelona

We booked for Barcelona yesterday. We wanted to go in September, but we couldn't get a hotel in the area we wanted, so we are going in October, actually flying on our anniversary.

I loved Barcelona, the only thing I didn't like was at the end of the day along Las Ramblas the animal "shops" close and they fold up like wardrobes with all the animals inside. I am not an animal rights activist or anything but it upset me!

Up the top of the hill where the museum is there is a huge fountain and on a Friday it lights up and "dances" to Queens "Barcelona" a very stirring sight and sound.

We loved the dancing fountains! I didn't notice the animals, thank goodness.

The dancing fountain is only on Fridays and Saturdays in October. We go Monday to Friday.

Would like to have seen them, but I know we would compare them to the fountains at Bellagio, Las Vegas.

Oh yes I loved the Gaudi places too. when we were in New Zealand ten years ago we found a small, as in VERY small, town which had public loos which looked like Gaudi had been there! I took pictures (sad) standing in the middle of the road on a zebra crossing, tickled me pink especially as just a matter of a few yards away was a pub which looked like it should have horses tied up outside it. It was called Kiri Kiri and if you ever go there need to visit as it was a fascinating toilet - nearly as fascinating as the toilet I am having my birthday lunch in!!! What is it with me and toilets????
