    Holiday booked

We have booked a holiday to Lanzarote in October.

OH has never been and I have only been once, when DD3 was 8, so 30 years ago.
It should be sunny and warm then, but not too hot.

We won't get any sea swimming on our Canadian trip in June, so this is a hotel on the beach so we can do that

Gem, that sounds lovely and I think it's a great time of year to have a beach-based holiday before our climate descends into the dreaded winter.

We have been there once. It was probably October, because we are usually away for our anniversary.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma, I agree. You've both had a rotten time just lately.

As most of you know we had to cancel this holiday.
I am trying not to think about it!

This morning someone from Jet2 phoned and offered to transfer the deposit of the holiday we lost to a future booking. They will only take a 1p deposit for this. The holiday can be next year or even the year after. I think it has to be booked fairly soon.

I was just leaving the library when she phoned, then talking to her hands-free in the car on the way home, so couldn't do much about it . Also I need to talk to OH. I asked her to email the details and she is going to phone on Saturday to see if we want to book something. There is a time limit and it must be booked via her not online.

I will speak to OH then see what we think.
It's such early days to make any plans as she hasn't started the treatment yet, but it would be good to have something to look forward to.

I understand your dilemma, Gem. We had the same just booking our current holiday a couple of weeks ahead. We decided in the end just to be brave ( or foolhardy) and go ahead, bearing in mind that if I really felt unwell I could be unwell on holiday just as much as at home! Luckily not too bad so far, but we have paced ourselves. So perhaps choosing the right sort of holiday is the key. Something both of you will enjoy, but no pressure to do anything if S happens to feel a bit under the weather or tired. It's important to have something to look forward to. Xx

I know how hard it has been to arrange a holiday Daisy, and I'm glad you are away on a break now.

I think it is the travelling which is off-putting, especially considering how OH was in Canada when we had to see the Dr

Lanzarote was a totally relaxing beach hotel with half board. Just what we both need, if we could have got there without airports etc!
