Has anyone tried a River Cruise?

Gem, we've got friends who are very keen cruisers, but now (our age) they have converted to river cruises. They like the smaller boats and there is always something to see as they float along. It just means they have to fly to the starting point, where before they would almost always embark at Southampton."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are.
