DD1 and family go camping 3/4 times each year but go with a group of friends who all have children. One of the Mums takes a microwave and hair straighteners. The are down in East Sussex this weekend. Today has been fine but torrential rain yesterday and more expected tomorrow.

I've never slept in a tent and would like to try but OH thinks I am nuts! Not much likelihood of us having a caravan either though lots of people around here have statics in Wales or own caravans or campers.

There is something enjoyable sleeping in a tent when it is raining. I would love to sleep in a tent again but I wouldn't be able to get off the camp bed in the morning.

My dad was a coal miner & we went to Primrose Valley caravan site nr Filey every 'miners holiday'. The sound of the rain on the metal roof stays with me to this day. I love it. 💧💧💧

We went to Primrose Valley a few times when the kids were little. I liked to hear the rain on the roof as well.
