A weekend away

Two of our friends, a couple, have their 60th birthdays this year.
They have kindly booked a house for a group of us to celebrate their birthdays, their treat. It's in Lancashire. 4 couples were invited but only 3 couples are going. So there will be 8 of us and one dog.

One friend is cooking Indian for everyone on the first night (her forte) OH and I are treating everyone to fish and chips on the Saturday night. We are all going out to eat to celebrate the birthdays on the Sunday.
We are also going to a Escape rooms on the Sunday afternoon. I have done this twice (but not managed to escape so far!) Some of our friends have never tried it. Hopefully all will enjoy it.

Some friends are bringing tea, coffee, milk. biscuits, bread, cereals and such like. We will all bring a bottle of wine or 2

We had a really lovely time

Our friends had done well and booked us a lovely house big enough for us all in a beautiful peaceful location.

Lottie the little dog was lovely and won my heart immediately. It was nice to have a pet again for few days. I miss her!
We played a lot of games, had good chats, a lot of laughs, good food and wine. Some had walks but I wasn't up to that really. We had so much food!
Someone brought a coffee and walnut cake (my favourite) which was delicious.

Yesterday afternoon we had booked into Lancaster Escape Rooms. With 8 of us we needed 2 rooms. We certainly had great fun in ours and the other group said they did too! We did have to ask our host for couple of clues along the way.
I don't know if any of you watch The 1% Club? A couple of weeks ago there was contestant who said she worked in the Lancaster Escape Rooms. As we knew we were going our ears pricked up! Some of our friends had seen it too. We asked our girl and yes it was her
Last night we had a lovely pub meal. As it was Sunday the roast was on offer as well as the regular menu. I love a Sunday roast so that was my choice, and I think the choice of half the party.

Gem, what a lovely week-end for all of you, although I'm sorry you couldn't join some of the walks. The Escape Rooms sound great fun, and I'm glad you were all out in time for your meal!

Lottie certainly looks a little character and it is lovely to have a pet around, although I suspect Eva might be a bit too large even though she is convinced she's a lap dog.
