Well we test a week tomorrow, so I see zero chances of the pre departure tests being dropped.
We have all bought our test kits and have our video appointments. We will be testing daily next week up to then to reassure ourselves that it should be negative!
A very tense time and takes the excitement away and replaces it with stress.

Gem - this feels so unfair. Your dream holiday has been cancelled, postponed, messed about and now you have all the stress of worrying in case any of you test positive just 24 hours before you fly. I know it's easy to say try to put it as the back of your mind, but it's not that easy.

I hope the whole family stays safe and you'll be able to heave a sigh of relief and enjoy your trip. xxx

They have found out that SIL2's karate teaching partner and her son have covid. Her son is GD's training partner. They were all together at karate last Wednesday. So we are all on tenterhooks.

Oh Gem! I do hope SIL and GD are ok. I think most people who catch it at the moment do so very quickly after contact with the infection. In that case your SIL and DG are probably safe. Xxxx

Gem, you must be! I wish I could wave a magic wand and fast forward to test day to get it over and done with. Hang in there and keep you mind on all the things you've planned in Florida. Big hugs. xxx

                                Testing day tomorrow!
All 8 of us were negative this morning. Its the supervised one tomorrow that counts as that provides the certificate you require to travel to America. Fingers crossed!
SIL has had cold symptoms all week, but is also very stressed with work and worries over his parents so hopefully that's all it is.

We fly on Saturday and the supervised tests must be the day before. DD2's family's appointment is 8.20 tomorrow morning, ours is at 9.40. DD1 could only get one during school hours so GS's school is kindly providing a room for them both to have the video call.
These certificates, plus our covid travel passes and attestation form must be put onto the Verifly App which I put on my phone. It's not just matter of picking up your passport these days! We also have paper copies of everything including the ESTAs, as back up. OH says she is never going to America again and I know what she means!!!

OH will go to York station to pick up the cat sitters at 2.30.
We have two sets of cat sitters this time! Our usual lady Henry's 'Auntie Wendy' is coming at the end of the first week for 9 days. Our friends from Stratford on Avon are doing the first week. They have wanted a holiday in York for while, and 16 days is a long time for Wendy to leave her OH. They have looked after Henry before when we had more cats, but it was years ago so I don't know if he will remember them! Hopefully he will, and Auntie Wendy will be there for him the second week

Taxi to Manchester from our house at 4pm for us and DD and GS1. Second pick up, DD2s family, on the way. Premier Inn tomorrow night and we will eat there.
We have booked a very early breakfast for 6.30 and taxi t take us the short distance to the airport at 7.15. We fly at 11am and three hours would normally be enough, but there are such horror stories about Manchester airport at the moment. I realised this a while ago and booked express line tickets and urged the DDs to do the same which they did, before they sold out. So we should be through quicker, but nothing is certain so we want to be there in good time!

I have booked a Walmart delivery to the villa for between 8 and 9 pm US time on Saturday. Just for the basics for the first couple of days then we will do a big shop in person. I impressed myself doing that to be honest I couldn't work out how to book a slot ahead at first. I had heard of UK credit and debit cards being a problem for those orders, but I used good old Paypal
