    A Day Out post Lockdown

Last week we met up with DS1 and DIL while they were waiting for their car windscreen to be fixed. It isn't a straight forward job in their car and would take 3 hours. So we pottered around and had lunch. Unfortunately, the windscreen place had ordered the wrong windscreen, so it was re-booked for today!

Same scenario - we met them at the garage and DIL had booked a table at a lovely old pub in Hamble, which is a quaint and pretty boating village at the estuary of the Hamble River. It's been a glorious day and we strolled a little way to a cafe and sat outside with our drinks, watching the boats going up and down the river - there were some beautiful yachts and a luxurious Sunseeker.

People were wandering up and down with small children and dogs. And then I saw him and fell instantly in love! A fabulous youngish black Labrador. He was in and out of the water, tail wagging, shaking himself and being incredibly gentle with the toddler with him. I can't remember the last time a dog stopped me in my tracks like that.

Then we went and had lunch - OH and I had fish and chips and DS and DIL had steak - really fresh, well-cooked and utterly delicious.

Then DIL got a phone call to say the garage had ordered the wrong windscreen - again!

We'll be doing it all over again next week.

Oh what a lovely day that sounds Daisy 😊 And all the more precious after the year we have had.
And you get to do it again next week!

Plant - Hamble is so pretty with quaint cobbled streets rather like some Cornish towns, the 'reality check' comes on the lane leading to and from there to the M27 - it's very busy, especially at peak times.
