    2021 holidays

I really hope we will all get to have some sort of break this year, be it to a holiday destination in the UK or abroad, or to stay with friends or family. We all need it!

Have you anything booked? Are you planning to book, or to stay with anyone, once that is allowed?

We have a week in a cottage in Northumberland booked for June, and we moved our previously booked April canal boat break with friends to October .
I don't feel confident to go abroad this year, although I would love to.

Our sights are firmly fixed on Florida in April 2022, and fingers crossed we can get flights we can all afford!

Gem, DS1 and family, they were used to distant holidays a few times a year, in fact they had 3 or 4 booked when the corona outbreak came, they can't see that happening in the near future and that is why they have bought a boat, they can be away when they want to be without worrying about destinations etc.

I have booked our favourite cottage in Devon again for a week in December. It was fully booked for the rest of the year, I guess people had transferred their weeks from last year. But it’s lovely in December aNd always beautifully decorated for Christmas. I can’t imagine going abroad again. Otherwise it will be days out as and when I can.

Nothing booked for us yet. As and when the caravan sites open we'll try and book something, but I expect there will be little choice as bookings will have been transferred from last year. Two years ago we had planned to go up to North Wales and north Staffordshire to catch up with family and friends, but that didn't happen because we were so busy after my cousin passed away, then of course last year was a write off. So fingers crossed for this year.

I think we all need a break!

We are booked to go to Yorkshire next month, just him and me. We have spoken to the owner of the air B&B we are staying at and she says Settle is opening up gradually and they are now happy to welcome visitors. We are also booked into cottage In Suffolk at the beginning of May but with friends so that won’t go ahead. Any availability now is twice the price! We are keeping our fingers crossed for August and the family hols in Spain.

We've booked a week in Suffolk with GS at the end of July. Apartment right on the beach, so can have an early morning swim...Ha! Ha!

Hoping to get up to Scotland at some point to celebrate DB's 70th birthday which got cancelled last year and to celebrate their Golden Wedding.

Would love to go out and visit DS as well. Not sure about flying yet though.

I’ve got a 28 day cruise booked for the Caribbean in November. I booked it before coronavirus raised its ugly head. I’m just hoping it will still be going ahead. Fingers crossed. I’d like to get a break in the UK sometime before then, but nothing booked as yet.

Not sure if I will get a holiday this year, I rely on other people to go with. The holiday to Chester with the national trust group which was cancelled might go ahead in Sept. but I haven't heard anything.

Plant - have you been to Chester before?

It's a lovely small city with lots of interest, from a wander down by the River Dee to being up on the old city Walls looking down on the city. It's good on a rainy day for shopping as many of the shops are in the Rows, or in the mall. I worked there for several years and loved it.

Last time I was there I did notice some of the steps up to the Rows were a bit worn and you need to hang on to the handrails.

I have been to Chester with my OH, we were staying nearby for a wedding. I have high hopes that this holiday will go ahead.

The holiday takes in several places of interest and staying at Alvaston Hall a Warners Hotel.
