Glamm - I can't help wondering if this man has ever gone on a "boys' jolly" - golfing, fishing, or whatever. It looks a bit like one rule for them - the lads - and one for us women! Although I suppose he might have been joking. I do hope you and your DD are able to go with your DD to Majorca.

Gem - I know how much your love your holidays, so I hope it will work out ok for you.

It looks now as though we will not be able to go on the holiday.
As it is after Easter I think we could if it were just OH and me, but as 2 none-bubbled households it won't be permitted.

I am now looking for somewhere in the UK for OH and me for this summer. The cottages in Northumberland which we love are booked all through summer .

I am hoping the holiday I was booked to go on with my NT group in September might now be possible, fingers crossed. I was to Chester.

We booked a week in August in Aldeburgh for ourselves and GS just after Christmas. There wasn't a a lot of availability even then so I think it might be quite difficult to find someplace now.

An old friend (Lynne's niece, Lizzie) has just started a holiday let in a cottage they were renting out. I am considering going there, it's in Yorkshire and by the sea.

We have just booked a cottage in Northumberland! OH was just browsing and found this one with one week free in June so we grabbed it. We may be able to come over to yours or meet up Oma

Gem - I'm so pleased you've found somewhere. I'm sure there will be a huge scramble for self-catering now.

I haven't heard anything about when caravan sites might be allowed to open, but when they do, I expect it will be the same situation.

The boat owners contacted us as they realised we were probably 2 households, which we are. The options for our April booking in this case were One group take it (No go as the whole idea of this holiday was as small group) Move our booking to after May 17 when 2 household can mix indoors, or Have a refund. We will look at the availability for later this year then tonight talk it over with our friends. If we can't get a date to suit us both we can have our money back anyway.

Gem - at least you've got options with the canal holiday. One of the nice things about boating holidays in May/June/July is the long light evenings. It makes such a difference.

I do hope you can rebook it.
