Have far have you travelled this year?

I was commenting to our friends yesterday that I haven't left Yorkshire this year. If I'd had a crystal ball we would have had a January or February holiday!!

I do love Yorkshire, but I long to leave it for a while!

Friends of ours went on holiday to Australia and Dubai at the beginning of the year, pre pandemic. They joined us on our 3 day break in pods in Yorkshire in August, and they have just returned from The Scilly Isles, Cornwall and Bristol. There is still life out there, although it doesn't feel like it!
OH is always happy to never go anywhere. I am the driving force behind all we do. Now she is even less keen due to covid fear.

Have you travelled much or at all, this year?

The furthest we have been is to Pontefract, about 15 miles away.
It was only a few days ago, that hubby said we would have had 2 holidays this year.
We would have been gearing up for one this month.
Its our anniversary in just over 2 weeks, and we are usually away for it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

The furthest I've been this year is to DS1's which is about 75 miles away. OH had a very brief trip up to North Staffordshire, but it wasn't a holiday.

I haven't been more than 10 miles. Just Bucks and a short trip into Berks

I had a few days away in January, visiting the cycle factory etc, that is as far as I have been this year! Then visiting DS2 in their new house, that is a 30 minute drive. An exciting year!

I’m probably the winner on this one. I went to Australia and New Zealand, back in January and February. That was before Covid got in the way. I haven’t been anywhere very far since though. I am just very thankful I went before Covid hit us.

I've been to Orford,#Somerset and High Wycombe. That's it for now. We won't be having Christmas in Bratislava sadly. Don't know where we'll be,but I do have a Waitrose Christmas delivery slot! So as long as I order plenty of fizz we should be fine!!!

Last trip was to Majorca last October for our usual "mum & daughter" trip for a week we usually go May & October but I doubt we will be going next year even though we have a booking for June 2021 I doubt very much if it will happen.
The furthest I have been is Liverpool/Chester for just 5 odd days in total so not very far at all.
I didn't even get to visit my youngest son's new house in Leek in Staffordshire where he moved to with his job,he has now moved back to The Wirral and taken up a new position with the same company and I haven't been able to visit that house either.(I think I saw more of him when we lived in Spain and he came for holidays )

Not very far at all. Just round our local area. We normally have two holidays a year, one always in Northumberland as we love it there and another elsewhere. We also have quite a few weekends away and take the fairies with us but not this year. Missed my travels and hoping as all of us for a better year next year. 🤞🤞

I haven’t been out of Essex this year! Plenty was planned, but all postponed. 😬🙄

Sunshine - when I saw Gem's title for this thread I thought about you. Your timing was perfect because you got back just before lockdown, didn't you? So, yes, I'd say you are definitely the winner of the trophy for the longest distance travelled.

After last year's failure to use the caravan because of circumstances out of our control, we hoped this year would be better - a couple of long trips plus a few shorter ones. But all we've done is keep it clean (inside anyway) and dry!! I hope next year will be better! We need to clean the outside before winter sets in, but we're waiting for the horse chestnut tree to stop throwing conkers at it.
