Battle Spectacular in The Land of Darkness

This is the event I was a bit vague about on Chat today!
I think DD has been before. We are meeting her and GS 1 just before 6 when the 'doors' open. There are no doors LOL.

It should be good if not too windy. It looks as though the fireworks go off behind or perhaps from inside Clifford's Tower.
We will wrap up very warmly.
OH and I are getting the bus in as parking is bad enough in York at the best of times. First time for OH with a bus pass!

*** Latest reports are that due to the wind and safety issues, this may not take place. They will make a decision between 4 and 5, and we are to look at social media. So we may not be going after all.

DD just got a text, as she booked the tickets, saying it is cancelled. She and GS are in town and she said they just got hailed on and it's very cold, so it wouldn't have been much fun, and of course the safety risk.

Gem - it's disappointing when events get cancelled at the last minute like that - but we can't help the weather and it's better to be safe than sorry. It's a shame when the organisers have no doubt put a lot of work and probably expense into it, though.

Yes, I do feel sorry for the organisers, and anyone in York for the weekend specifically for this.
