    River Cruises

I know several of our members have been on cruises.
Has anyone done a River Cruise?
The only person I personally know who has is an American friend who has done a couple of European ones.
A cruise isn't anything OH or myself have had any desire to do. We do have passing interest in a river cruise. Possibly.

    Advice or comments anyone?

We did a Nile cruise a few years ago.
It's one of the best holidays we have had.
The holiday had quite a few excursions included.
We did pay to go to the Valley of the Kings.
That was our first time in Egypt.
I don't know if things have changed, but ships didn't go on the Nile then.
We were on a boat that carried about 80 passengers.
It was fascinating seeing seeing things in Egypt, that we had only seen on television or read about in magazines.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Yes, we’ve done three. One on the Rhine, one on the Danube and one on the Douro. Thorough enjoyed them all. I can send you my journal for two of them if you are interested.
We couldn’t cope with those huge cruise liners but a small river boat with lots to do onshore is fascinating.

Friends of ours do several river cruises a year and they love the fact that you only unpack once but get to see lots of interesting places.

I doubt we would be able to afford it this year, but something to look into for the future.

Thank you Sum1, that would be useful.
