Holidays. Something new or stick with what you know you like?

Do you like to try new places, or return to somewhere you know you will enjoy?

I'm afraid I am in the latter camp. OH also enjoys returning to places we have liked, but would also like to try new places.
I am worried that we we won't like it somewhere new and will waste our money. We have friends who have about 5 holidays a year so if they had a disappointment there is another waiting in the wings! For most of us this is not the case.
I don't like in any way to rough it either. I would always prefer a shorter holiday somewhere nice than a longer one with less stars.

Left to my own devices it would be Majorca, Portugal, Spain ,Florida, London, Edinburgh, Stratford on Avon and Northumberland and the Lakes.

I would consider Malta though, as lots of you had good reports on it.

This year's holiday is still under discussion!

We loved cruising, till hubby went off them.
I would go anywhere in America.
We have been to a couple of places more than once, but do like to try somewher else, where we haven't been.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

We have friends who like Oma and Nan2 love cruising. For some reason it is something neither of us is interested in. If someone offered us a free one we would of course go, ( ) but its not on our list.
Will you get on one this year do you hope Oma?

I like returning to places we've enjoyed previously, but I also like to try somewhere new.

Like Nanto, I have always enjoyed going to America and we've been to the four corners - well Seattle, California, Florida and NY. I like France too. Generally I like to be on the coast, and like good, hot weather. In the UK we're gradually exploring places we don't know, and I find the caravan a very relaxing form of holiday.

I've only ever been on a mini cruise (Cypress to Egypt) and it was ok, but I don't know if I fancy a longer trip. OH would like it, so I expect we'll go one of these days.

I have been to New York, Chicago, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Boston and Cape Cod, as well as Florida. So I am adventurous within the States, but don't fancy the longer journey time to go to the West coast.

A river cruise is on our list of possibles one day.

It’s definitely cruises for me, although cruise lines do vary. It is so easy. As soon as I get on the ship the holiday starts. I love the fact there is always something going on and the shows are amazing. It is good to visit a selection of ports although I enjoy the sea days too. I have recently explored coach holidays. I am going on another one in March, but cruises definitely are my favourite. Having said that, cruising isn’t for everyone. If you’re wondering whether or not you’d like it, it might be worth trying a mini cruise or taster as some cruise lines call it, just to see if you think it’s for you. Good luck and enjoy.

Sunshine - the taster cruises are good value, I think. I remember my cousin going on one from Southampton to the Channel Islands and he really enjoyed it.

I do like the idea of seeing different places without having to keep packing and unpacking!

Gem - the West coast of America has such a lot to offer! I know the flight's a bit longer but not that much, and you can get your Disney fix in California! San Francisco and San Diego are amazing, and you're only a stone's throw from the Grand Canyon, Indian reservations, Las Vegas and much more. From Washington State if you get bored with Seattle and it surrounding attractions, is in easy reach of Vancouver, plus the beautiful and romantic San Juan Islands.
