Not too long now Nana. Whereabouts are you going?

Sunshine - when do you go off on your coach trip to South Wales?
Nanto - you're on a countdown now - less than 2 weeks.
Nana - not much more than a week to your trip to Devon? I hope you've started packing.

I feel very spoilt because we have four separate weeks. Three of them are HPB weeks (Plantaholic used to be a member) and so they are pretty cheap. A week in Norfolk, a week in the Peaks and a week in Dorset.
And then in October a week in Tuscany on a walking holiday. We’re not very good at sitting around so this should let us do sightseeing and walking.
We’re determined to keep up our exercise and flexibility as we get older. It’s so easy to let it go and then find that before you know it, it’s disappeared.
And the other day day I accidentally discovered that my phone has been secretly tracking all my steps. I had no idea. And what’s good is that it tracks and counts running up and down the stairs and all the steps you doing housework (Qwerty).

Sum1, one of the reasons we do go away as often as we would like is elderly cats. Having 3 we need someone to stay here as we wouldn't be able to afford cattery fees, and they would hate it.

The screen shot above is a good day! 13 km walking and six km running up and down the stairs and silly jobs in the house and garden, I bet you do a fair few doing your cleaning!

You're right. We go next Friday & have a stop off at Gloucester overnight to break up the journey. We then have 2wks in a place called Wayword /Wayward (?) Ho, Devon. We've never been before so 🤞 it's a nice place.
If anyone knows the area any suggestions of places to visit will be welcomed."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Yes, I agree with Gem, it must be Westward Ho! (the only place name in England with an exclamation mark, I believe!). It's on the north Devon coast (my favourite part of the county) with a fabulous coastline. Not too far from Barnstable.
We took the caravan down there last year and did a walk round Baggy Point, near Croyde. It was a really hot day though and we felt our age climbing up the steeper parts of the path!Croyde is an old fashioned seaside village - unless there's a music festival on! It's the in place for surfers, so don't forget you board and your flippers!
Dartmoor National Park is close by."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Nana - are you on your way down to Devon today, or is it next week. I've got confused!!
If so I hope you've remembered your surf board!!!
There are so many pretty places to visit around there, I'm sure you'll find 2 weeks isn't long enough. Lynton and Lynmouth aren't far away, and the Lynton Cliff Railway is fun. I seem to remember Minehead having a great beach for a walk. There are several steam railways in the county. We've been on a couple of them, but can't remember which ones! I do remember taking the dogs though!
